Meet the Waxpert!
Hi! I'm Ellen. I have been a licensed esthetician and working to perfect my craft since 2005. I started The Good Wax in February 2013 after several years working in a salon/spa in downtown San Luis Obispo. I am passionate about waxing and love passing on my knowledge and experience to my valued clients.
I pride myself on being able to provide quick and mostly painless waxing services (its hair removal, there is a small amount of discomfort involved).
In 2021, I became Kelley Baker Brow certified during a one on one training with the brow waxer to the stars herself, Kelley Baker. I use her brow shaping technique and products during every brow waxing appointment.
I am truly passionate about my work and absolutely love getting to know my clients. It is the highlight of my job. I have enjoyed sharing in the joy of my clients as they, graduate from high school, college, get married, have babies, and start careers, etc.
In addition to running The Good Wax - I spend my days being mom to a hilarious nine year-old boy and feeding my husband. I like to cook and he likes to eat, its a perfect match. I love living on the Central Coast and have been lucky enough to call this place home for nearly 20 years.

Established in 2013
After working in a spa environment and under several kinds of management, I knew there was an easier way for clients to get a wax. So with a little motivation, I jumped ship and The Good Wax began!
When you arrive at The Good Wax, you might be surprised to find that you have not landed at a large waxing institution, but a quaint, single service business, without a lot of fanfare but don't let that deter you. Every thing about the service you will receive will far exceed the standard of other waxing establishments.
I will personally schedule your appointment and answer all of your questions and as a the sole service provider, you can guarantee that I will be at every appointment to personally deliver the great service and great conversation.
If you need a large, corporate waxing establishment, The Good Wax is not the place for you, and thats ok! I want every waxing client to feel their most comfortable and if thats not in this space, I wish you the best in finding the right waxing establishment and waxer for you.
